Set Up Your Phone Number
Brickwise gives your organisation a dedicated phone number that Alice uses for calls, SMS, and WhatsApp. Tenants call or message this number and Alice responds instantly — 24/7, under your brand.
Choosing your number
During your onboarding call, you'll choose the type of phone number that works best for your business:
- Local number — A number with a local area code, familiar to your tenants. Builds local trust. Note: in some regions (e.g., the UK), local numbers cannot send or receive SMS — your Brickwise team will advise on any restrictions.
- Mobile number — A standard mobile number. Full SMS and WhatsApp support. Works well for businesses that communicate primarily via text.
Your Brickwise team will walk you through what's available in your region and help you pick the right option.
What gets set up
Once you've chosen your number, your Brickwise team configures everything:
- Voice calls — Alice answers inbound calls and can make outbound calls on your behalf
- SMS — Two-way text messaging for tenant updates (where supported by your number type)
- WhatsApp — Business messaging on the channel tenants prefer. WhatsApp requires a Meta Business Account. If you already have one, your Brickwise team will connect it during setup. If not, you can create one at business.facebook.com — your Brickwise team will walk you through it.
What you need to do
- Choose your preferred number type during your onboarding call
- For WhatsApp: ensure you have a Meta Business Account. If you don't have one yet, your Brickwise team will help you set one up during onboarding.
That's it. Your Brickwise team purchases the number, configures all the call and messaging routing, connects it to Alice, and verifies everything works.
Testing
Before you go live, your Brickwise team will test that inbound and outbound calls, SMS, and WhatsApp messages all work correctly on your new number.
Timeline
Phone number setup is typically completed alongside domain setup — usually within a day of starting onboarding.
