Best Real Estate Agents in San Diego (2026): Who Is Listing Homes Right Now

The short answer. Compass holds the most homes for sale in San Diego, 314 of about 3,050 on 4 November 2026. Gregg Neuman of Berkshire Hathaway has the most of any single agent, 20 downtown condos. Ross Clark of Compass leads on value, $53.8 million across nine La Jolla homes. Neuman and Chad Dannecker of Compass are the only two who rank high on both live listings and Zillow closed sales.

San Diego has about 3,050 homes for sale as of 4 November 2026, listed by more than 600 brokerages. This page shows which brokerages and agents hold the most of them right now, with every agent's license checked against the state record and closed sales from Zillow agent profiles.

A listing count shows who is busy today, not who sells best. Use this page to find names, then interview two or three.

Compass leads on both count and value, and no other brokerage comes close on combined list price. Pacific Sotheby's and Berkshire Hathaway lean toward higher priced homes. Coldwell Banker West and Coldwell Banker Realty are separate companies under the same brand, so they are listed apart.

"New development" means most of the agent's listings are new homes in one builder's project. Those counts say more about the project than about the agent's resale work.

Listings show who is active today. Closed sales show track record. This is the first page of Zillow's San Diego directory on 4 November 2026, which lists 24,662 agents and orders them by its own formula. It is a sample, not a ranking. Team figures include every agent on the team.

Gregg Neuman and Chad Dannecker are the only agents near the top of both lists, by active listings and by Zillow closed sales. Several of the largest teams on Zillow, such as Whissel and PorchLight, sell through eXp. That helps explain why eXp ranks second by listings even though no single eXp agent appears in our table. Gregg Neuman, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties. Leads The Neuman Team from a downtown office at 516 5th Avenue. The team site says Neuman has more than 45 years in the business and more than 7,400 sales, and that the team specializes in downtown condos, lofts and penthouses. All 20 of his current listings are in the 92101 ZIP. Those figures are self reported. DRE 00809392.

Chad Dannecker, Compass. A broker who leads Dannecker & Associates. His Compass profile says he began his career in 2002, is a Certified Residential Specialist and is a native San Diegan. His listings run from downtown condos to Pacific Beach and Point Loma homes. DRE 01459513.

Denny Oh, Real Broker. A salesperson with Real Broker, the DRE record confirms. His 13 listings are almost all downtown condos, at buildings such as 1199 Pacific Highway and 700 West Harbor Drive. Older profiles show him at Compass, so check his current brokerage before you sign. DRE 01420194.

Melissa Goldstein Tucci, Coldwell Banker West. A broker associate whose own site says she specializes in single family homes and was the San Diego Association of Realtors' Realtor of the Year in 2023. Both claims are self reported. DRE 01380034.

Ross Clark, Compass. Based in La Jolla. His nine listings carry the highest combined price in the table, $53.8 million, from $4.3 million to $8.5 million. His Compass profile says he was raised in La Jolla, served in the U.S. Army and speaks English, Spanish and French. DRE 01830849.

Eric Chodorow, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties. A broker who works with Peggy Chodorow as Team Chodorow. Eight of his nine listings are in La Jolla. DRE 00992609.

Marc Lotzof, Compass. A broker who leads The Lotzof Group. His Compass profile says he became an agent in 1985 and has been a California broker since 1988. DRE 01046166.

Janna Hernholm, Pacific Sotheby's International Realty. Leads The Hernholm Group, which joined Pacific Sotheby's in 2011. Her listings center on Mission Hills and nearby neighborhoods. DRE 00841932.

Noah Grassi, Compass. Focused on the coastal corridor, with five of his seven listings in Pacific Beach. His profile says he has more than 20 years of experience and more than 500 sales, both self reported. DRE 01411480.

If you are buying or selling a small apartment building, the agents above are not the usual route. In the data, 88 listings sit with commercial brokers, at a median price of $2.7 million. Marcus & Millichap holds 23, Apartment Realty Group 12, Conor Brennan 11, Colliers 11 and Lee & Associates 7. Most are buildings in North Park, Hillcrest, Normal Heights and Pacific Beach.
